The homeless situation in America is much bigger than 500,000. They didn't count the people far from the city centers and homeless shelters of metropolitan areas. I drive all through the Puget Sound area and the 8000 number they throw around is way to hell off. Take it times 3.

They don't count the number of people living in a rented room in a home either. Many "home owners" rent out rooms so they can pay their mortgages. Either that or be homeless themselves.

I've seen homeless in Russia but nothing like the amount I see here.

If all Russians can afford Vodka, then why the hell are they drinking bath oil?

Alcoholics, homeless, drunks, ect. drink anything that can burn. They do not have money even for normal food.

+ Irkutsk has a population of 600000 person. Victims could be much higher.

For interest, I drank a tincture of hawthorn a few months ago. This is disgusting! Its better to drink medical alcohol, but it costs 4 times more expensive. 0,30 USD vs. 1.10 USD per flacon 100 ml.

Vodka in Russia is expensive. Its worth about 7.5 dollars per 0.5 liters - half day working for buy.

Why they could not realize themselves? Nobody helps them?

Of course nobody helps them.
Russia has "liberal model" ( i.e. highly conservative) of capitalism. "Survival of the fittest" you know.
Courtesy of American "economic advisers" and Clintons personally.
The very same Americans, that "new democratic government" in Kiev is trying to cozy up to, while condemning Russia.
But plenty of Russians are aware of the whole situation and thus consider Ukrainians to be simply useful idiots. As usual.

Russia. According to the government's estimates, five million people are homeless in Russia (3.5% of the population), one million of whom are children and 50,000 of whom live in Moscow (IBT, 2014).

I think that main reason is the changing in ideology. In the 90th years the state has ceased to care about people, and many Soviet people were not able to change their understanding of life. The Soviet Union make a decision for each person, and people are accustomed to it.

The present generation (including me) is really a generation "Survival of the fittest". And, for example, I can help a animals, a children, but I don't want to help these people. These people choose their way themselves.

Every Man Chooses for Himself
by Yury Levitansky (translate)

Every man chooses for himself
His woman, his path, and his religion,
The god to which he pledges his allegiance -
Every man chooses for himself.

Every man chooses on his own
Words to say in prayer, and in passion,
His weapons. in defense and in aggression -
Every man chooses on his own.

Every man elects what suits him best -
Shield and armor, or tatters and privations -
The measure of his final expiation -
Every man elects what suits him best.

Every man chooses for himself,
And I choose also, one way, or another -
Making no reproach to any other -
Every man chooses for himself.

Chief of Russian Institute for strategic research (RISI) Leonid Reshetnikov voiced an opinion - there cannot be independent Belarus, Belarussian language was invented by soviet communists 90 years ago, it is time to unite Belarus in the collective. RISI supplies information to Russian authorities, Reshetnikov is not just a crackpot spewing imperial nonsense, that view dominate Russia from top to bottom. Depending on the extent of Trump' accomodation of the Russian imperial needs, there is a distinct possibility for Belarus anschluss within the next 4 years.
