Right. In real life, Putin doesn't actually exist and Russia is actually a fictional country since obviously there's no way there can be a country that has several times more people than Ukraine does that also has access to tools to make fake movies and audio records and there's no way that country would have modern technologies. This whole thread has been an exercise in world building about a fictional nation. Good point!

Belarussian police, acting on behalf of the Kremlin, have arrested a Russian man in Minsk. His crime? His daughter drew a drawing that criticized the Russian war on Ukraine. The daughter was taken away and sent to a state orphanage, and the man has been sentenced to 2 years in prison for this!

The Russian trolls here claim that the Western nations are just as bad (if not worse) than Russia... and they're not perfect, no - but on par with Russia??? Not even close.

In Russian, but in a few hours you will hear it in English, I am sure.

"An intercepted secret conversation between Russian billionaire Farhad Akhmedov and music producer Iosif Prigozhin about Putin, war, sanctions and bleak prospects for Russia with comments by Dmitry Gordon"

Here is a real opinion for you...

The amount of top people (are they ?) in Russia - flying out of the windows and shot will increase drastically.
Yes, I have a feeling that some more prominent people will "commit suicide" or "murder their family and then commit suicide" in Russia soon. You can't even speak negatively about Putin, or anything he does, in Russia, or you will subsequently "commit suicide" soon.

There was a funny moment in the video--serious, but funny in how it was expressed. Prigozhin (Iosif Progozhin, a music producer, not the Wagner Group Prigozhin) started to say, "If he pushes the button..." [= exercises the nuclear option] And the video host interrupted and said, "What button?! The Chinese [man, meaning: Xi] already told him, 'NO BUTTONS!' "

OY! To think life on this planet has come to this!

The music producer's attempt at a comedy sketch may draw some laughters,
it is a deadly matter. The world has been warned.

I didn't see the date of the Biden clip, but news reports said in the first month or so of the war, that Biden had a very frank phone conversation with his counterpart in Moscow, and told him in no uncertain terms, that using nukes would have very serious consequences. That's old news.

It wasn't the music producer who made the off-the-cuff joke; he merely initiated a comment "if he presses the [nuke] button". It was the video host's comment in reaction to the mere mention of "the button". It wasn't a joke really, but just his casual way of phrasing Xi's warnings to the Kremlin, that made me laugh.

In his comments to his viewers, the host kept driving home his point throughout the phone conversation between the two personalities, that Prigozhin was a clueless idiot. Prigozhin thought he still had a chance to gain some favors from his highest-level connections, still make a few millions, before fleeing the country in advance of its economic collapse, while Akhmedov was telling him about reality for him in exile, with a useless credit card due to sanctions, all his bank accounts frozen, so no access to his money, and how the people administering the sanctions track individuals like him.

The video host's comment to Prigozhin's ambitions was, that thousands of people were dying on both sides, but all he can think of is making a few more bucks to abscond with.

In better times, I would have enjoyed that sketch.
That off-the-cuff joke is skewing the fact. Truth being B Team is in control as far back as 2014 when the war started, as admitted by many EU leaders.
Xi's totalitarian regime are distrusted by the West, but as many pointed out who push them to Russia. And not forgetting that Ukraine sold a flat top to China, the first aircraft carrier that the latter now owns.
The cultural gap between the East and West is so wide that some fail or intentionally pretend not to understand it. However, if the war machine relentelessly show up in the backyard, any regime would act. Already they are calling up their retired soldiers to re-enlist and defend their homeland.

"B Team"? Who is that?

Does anyone (outside of the two feuding parties) really know what was going on in that region leading up to, and after 2014? I don't know what to believe, but there seems to be reason to believe that Ukraine "made some missteps", to put it delicately. There's a lot that wasn't reported in the West, before Russia declared the two eastern Uke areas to be breakaway republics.

Who's calling up retired soldiers? What does "retired soldiers" even mean? In Russia, it means "reservists". Calling up "reservists" started months ago. This isn't news.

I'm having trouble understanding the references in your post. Please clarify. I can't tell if we're in agreement, or if we're not.

Absolutely agree with you that outside that region, the feuding parties could carry on to their hearts content.
Sick of the psychopathic warmongers get outsiders into the meelees.

Who else, but Xi.
