I can’t stand Ellen. I don’t think she’s funny and she seems awkward to me. I love Kathleen Madigan and John Mulaney. I also dont find funny anyone, male or female, who relies on constant profanity. It’s lazy.
I was home sick one day about 30 years ago, and Killer Beez had me wetting my jammies. The videos of him on YouTube now are nothing like the Beez I saw that day.
Steve Martin in his early days (ya gotta love King Tut), Steven Wright on a good day.
Jonathan Winters at the top. Johnny Carson right below him, not necessarily for stand-up but just relentlessly amusing.
IMHO George Carlin and Robin Williams are vastly overrated. I was a kid when Carlin first appeared on TV as the hippy-dippy weatherman, and he was actually funny then.
I saw him last weekend at an English beach, mascara nail varnish and moobs, the person I was with wanted to ask him for a photo but we decided that we should leave him in peace, we sat nearby for a few minutes, he seemed like a really nice (if a bit eccentric) guy.
