If the unemployment rate is below 8% dems win. If it remains above 10% reps win. There will be no viable independent party. Voting independent will be wasting a vote.

The unemployment rate during an election is your only measure of the success of a political party? Weird.

Because, while not perfect any means, the GOP is still FAR better than the 2009 (D) party. For example, the GOP has opposed or will oppose:

1. The $ 787 B stimulus which failed.
2. Releasing the 2nd $ 350B of TARP, which was a mistake.
3. The $ 410 B Omnibus budget bill, which was a larger increased in spending vs last year and contained 8,000+ earmarks.
4. Sotomayor, who is not an originalist justice.
5. Cap and Trade
6. The public option for Healthcare, which will lower the quality of our Healthcare.
7. SCHIP expansion and the cigarette tax hikes that came with it.

The GOP did not eliminate the use of the phrases 'terrorist' or 'war on terror.' The GOP would never appoint self avowed commies like Van Jones to positions in the Executive branch.

On the proposal side, the GOP offered a stimulus plan that cost 1/2 as much as Obama's and would have created twice as many jobs (according to Obama's advisers' models). They have much better solutions than the (D)s for Healthcare, such as serious tort reform, allowing policies to be sold across state lines and stripping away mandates which raise the prices of premiums. The GOP proposed a budget that, while not balanced, )as I would liked) added far less to the debt than the Obama budget (we're talking trillions, over a decade).

The GOP is much tougher on counterterroism than the (D)s, whose Attorney General's prior law firm does Pro Bono work for terrorists.

The GOP is far from perfect, but it is MUCH better than the current 2009 (D) party that is controlled by hard left radicals who support an overpowering central Government.

But reliable. People vote their pocket book. BTW, I predict that unemployment will be well above 10% next election.

Unemployment is rising b/c of the completely moronic policies coming from Obama and the (D) party.

Americans will vote for the Republicans because they are becoming even more ignorant and insane than in the Bush era (both of them btw).

George W Bush governed like a democrat - too much spending and too much expansion of government. The Patriotic Act was questionable if not downright unconstitutional. The signing of the TARP bill towards the end of his term was reckless and inexcusable.

Obama is going far beyond what Bush could even imagine in the scope of the spending, government expansion and power grab. He thumbs his nose at the Constitution and considers himself above the law in all things. His radical agenda is dangerous to the economy, national security and general rule of law.

We need someone that will reign in spending, act to reduce the size of government, respect and govern via the Constitution and maintain a strong military. I don't care what party that person may be from, but a strong message must be sent - I just hope it's not too late.

If you vote your conscious there is no such thing as a wasted vote. In my opinion, the only wasted vote is when you have to accept the lesser of two evils. There is a third party movement in this country, it is growing stronger every day.

Unemployment is rising because we have lost our industrial base and the big money has moved it's investments to India and China. A GM auto worker makes $70 an hour in the US. A GM worker in China makes $2 a day. Where does that leave us? Unemployed. TATA motors in India is producing a new car that costs $2000 and gets 60 mpg. Maruti, their closest competitor, announced that they will build one for $1500. Where do we fit into this competition?

Times will get hard and then harder.
