A South Carolina Roman Catholic priest has told his parishioners that they should refrain from receiving Holy Communion if they voted for Barack Obama because the Democratic president-elect supports abortion, and supporting him "constitutes material cooperation with intrinsic evil." The Rev. Jay Scott Newman said in a letter distributed Sunday to parishioners at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville that they are putting their souls at risk if they take Holy Communion before doing penance for their vote.

I grew up Catholic. This is not surprising at all. Sad, but not surprising. I'm surprised a nun didn't come by and smack all Obama voters on the knuckles with a ruler.

I wonder if they denied communion to McCain supporters too as the Catholic church officially opposes the death penalty.

I support the separation of Church and Hate, but then what would the churches offer if not hate?

In 2004 it played out in a small Baptist church of Hate in NC. USATODAY.com - Democrats voted out of church because of their politics, members say

Funny, my friend's priest announced that he was voting for Obama but didn't persuade his parish to vote for him, and he forbade political pressuring in his church.

Missed the part where the Priest said that the black man is the devil and AIDS was created by black men to kill whites.
