There is a tread on this, but since the Sarah Palin’s defenders refuse to comment on it I’ll keep bringing it up.

Daily Kos: Palin Pranked

Take a look and get back to us.

Stop peddling the word "qualified"..Just because you're a qualified buffon doesn't make you prepared to be POTUS..This lady just got prank called by two comedians and it took her 6 minutes to figure that out...But I guess you ride the short bus with her..

lets see , on researching ( apparently Quebecers , socialists , and liberals know who these folks are cause no one else does)

these people have pranked world leaders

Palin was handed a call that her screeners ( yes there is the place the fault rests) had told he was the French President
As President , or even Governor you do not have time to screen your calls, aides do that and when you take the call you have to assume that the person speaking is who you were told they are.

in the tape ( illegally done too might I add - interpol should be called to deal with those people ) Palin was jovial and was being diplomatic / friendly
- like one does with someone they know they have to be nice to but who is acting in an eccentric manner.

this was all just another in a long line of liberal media "gotcha" moments that are both undeserved and are unimportant to the election

EXCEPT that every time things like this happen , Mccain gets a few more votes.

Qualifications for president are more than just experiences.

They involve what you have done with those experiences, how much and how well you have done with them.

They also involve your understanding of the world, and the degree to which it is something you actively consider. Do you know and understand both the current world situation and some historical perspective along with it.

Governor Palin has had experience as a chief executive. This is pretty undeniable (though on C-D, I would not be shocked if somebody did).

How much thought she'd given to issues beyond Alaska is pretty hard to tell, though to listen to the folks who were charged with tutoring her, it was pretty minimal. It was, according to them, not just a matter of ignorance, but a matter of curiosity - and they felt she lacked it.

I don't know if their statements were purely self-serving pablum to avoid being blamed for her shortcomings or some of her more banal comments, like her assertion of foreign policy experience because Russia is next door to Alaska. It's hard to know what to make of such comments, though, when they are reinforced by her public appearances and interviews, with a commitment to blaming the media for "gotcha" questions when they were pretty normal sorts of questions (with the questionable "Bush Doctrine" one set aside).

All I'm saying is that the questions of her competence can be laid at her own feet more than any other's - and the confidence that most people in America feel about Obama go to him, as surely.

I think being pranked by these guys is, generally, nothing to be ashamed of.

I'd have been a bit leary when he talked about seeing Belgium, and a bit more when he was talking about how good in bed his wife is.

But as she'd not met him, I'd have probably started with "This is Governor Palin," rather than "This is Sarah." *shrugs*

Oh, btw, it was certainly not illegal. Laws where they are are different, probably, from the laws where you are, Po.

WHAATTTTTT!!! They weren't even naming real world leaders and she was going right along with it..Repubs were right to not try and defend this..It's as hopeless as Palin..A POTUS shouldn't be on the phone giggling and laughing like a high school girl with a Head of State..Palin is a JOKE!!!!!
