No I do not feel safer. And neither do most New Yorkers and residents of DC who did not vote for bush in 04. We a re citizens of the cities that were directly impacted.
Why didn't the Maverick work to get rid of some of it to help us get out of this mess. The latest bailout has pork barrel for Alaska fishermen!

Way to go, aaauger. Of course, much of the economic basics could come from any of the very good introductory college textbooks out there (one of my favorites, though, was written by Michael Parkin Economics Place ). Brian Baumol had a hand in a good one a few years back, too, but I don't know if his is still in print.

Furthermore, any self-employed financial planner could give the kind of information that would confirm that NOsama's plan will take this country into financial ruin.Moderator cut: personal attack

Republicans are more likely to help the economy? BS! First of all. Mc Cain plans to repeal the AMT tax, which will add a few billion dollars to the deficit. No plans of ending the Iraq and Afghanistan war, in 4 years, that would add another couple trillion to the National Debt. With the rising interest rates, the amount of interest we will be paying on this debt is just outrageous, especially if he will be adding even more to it. In history, this country has never seen the National Debt grow so quickly as in the last 8 years. Ironically, the Republicans party is supposed to be the party of "fiscal responsibility". There are obvious reasons why most economists think that Obama's economic plan is better.

He had NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND which critics say is still underfunded.
The people of New Orleans felt pretty safe a few years ago. Oops.

Yeah, have Bush maintain the budget surplus. Get rid of homeland security. Get rid of FEMA. Get rid of NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND so the US can save money. Get rid of stem cell research.

He next announced that he would now buy monkeys at $20 each. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again. Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to
their farms. The offer increased to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so scarce it was an effort to even find a monkey, let alone catch it!

The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50 each! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would buy on his behalf.

In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers: "Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has already collected. I will sell them to you at $35 and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for $50 each."

The villagers rounded up all their savings and bought all the monkeys for 700 billion dollars. They never saw the man or his assistant again, only lots and lots of monkeys!

Now you have a better understanding of how the WALL STREET BAILOUT PLAN WILL WORK !!!!
Gee, Thanks Senator McCain. Not only did we have to pay 700Billion for your monkey business, when you rode off on your shiny steed we got stuck with 110Billion more.

OP: Can you post any sources that corroborate your findings?

All I have seen are graphs, cost sheets and historical data that greatly contradicts your "findings" (some of which has already been posted here) .

Just like all other administrations the effect of a presidency often isn't felt until after he leaves office, clinton reaped the awards of the reagan/bush era and GW is having to deal with the poblems created by his predecessor are now coming to fruition....Examples: freddie and fannie rule changes, the deregulaion of wall srteet, the first bombing of Iraq , and more... all was clintons doings and GW had been rolled over by the snowball that clinton hand packed....Now no more of this and lets not vote for a ''Barrack hussien obama'' to get even with the rights and lets do whats good for AMERICA !!!

Are you sure you want to cite Economist on this?

142 economists responded to that survey. 530 economists have already endorsed McCain's plan.

From the article:
"...the McCain campaign should be buoyed by the fact that 530 economists have signed a statement endorsing his plans."
