Why are Republicans afraid to just admit that Senator McCain has always been a de-regulator, if it's a position he and his friends have always supported?

Oh he was a big talker on deregulation.

McCain: “I Don’t Think Anyone Who Wants To Increase The Burden Of Government Regulation And Higher Taxes Has Any Real Understanding Of Economics.”

McCain: “I Understand Why The AFL-CIO And Maybe Other Unions May Oppose My Free Market, Less Regulation, Right To Work.”

McCain: “Let’s Reduce Regulation.”

McCain: “We Need To Return To The Reagan Years… We Need Less Regulation.”

McCain Promised To “Give Them Lower Taxes, Less Regulation, Less Government In Their Lives.”

To Fix the Economy, McCain Would “We’ve Got To Take Specific Actions, Keep Their Taxes Low, Less Regulation.”

McCain Said The Difference Between Obama & Himself Would Be “More Regulation Or Less Regulation.”

McCain: “Less Government, Lower Taxes, Less Regulation, Safer America Is What I Can Give America.”

Default Is the Republican Party the "New Liberal Party"?

With all of the bailouts going on the Republican brand appears to be attached to what they say they hate the most - socialism. Is the Republican Party now the Party of Socialism? Their certainly Liberal spenders. When interviewed they certain run from Senator McCain's record on deregulation, is the socialism argument next? Aren't they spreading the blame to the citizens in the form of taxpayer funded bailouts? If they're willing to spread the debt, why not programs to help the middle class and working poor?

Saw this posted in another thread but it's interesting that the company who donated more to Obama was allowed to fail yet the one that donated more to Mccain was bailed out. Thought that was interesting...a little off topic but interesting

Isn't that kinda like pinpointing the "welfare" recipient that folks are so concerned about?

It goes back to the point- The candidate that has a history of deregulation is a member of the liberal Spending Party, and the recipient of socialism, how's that for Irony?!

Good gracious where are the fiscal conservatives!
