Charleston, SC Latest State and Regional News: McCain leads big in South

Quote:
On the issues, McCain trumped Obama nearly across the board in the poll.

The economy easily was the most important issue to Southern voters in the upcoming presidential election. McCain bested Obama on which candidate would handle energy and gas prices better, and who would do the better job on taxes.

McCain also far out-distanced Obama on who would do a better job of handling the Iraq war and terrorism.
Yep. The south is a tough, tough place for liberal, elitist democrats.

Bu bu but are they allowed to leave their shotguns outside the polling booth? If not it is unlikely they will vote!

Pretty much all of the southern states will go to McCain, just like all of the northeastern states will go to Obama, it's expected. The biggest part to watch is how the midwest votes (excluding Illinois). Just like always, the whole thing will probably be over before the polls close on the west coast.

sorry upton, leave those statistics to those of us who live in the state. mmmmmk. obama is going to get slaughtered in NC in the general. the only people who like him are city dwelling transplanted liberals, and there aren't enough.
