Respectfully, I disagree.
I know a few people who had to be told by their doctors to lighten up. These people were definitely
not repressed. You've probably met people like them, with a tendency to explode over trivial matters. The kind of personality that walks around with "chips on their shoulders," determined to be insulted whenever possible. Anger hurts your body in many ways, whether it's expressed or repressed.
The opposite is true, too. There are a number of studies that show a calm, cheerful attitude will benefit you in several medical situations, including cancer.
