Accepting reality is not the same as hoping.

For example, reality is you, too, will die some day.
But that is not the same thing as saying I hope you will die!

I can almost see how McCains age would concern people but I don't think it's a good idea for the media to make a big deal of it. For one, it's going to p*ss older folks off and they tend to have huge political clout (even the senile one's do).

Talking about his political views is one thing but putting McCain down for something he can't help is another matter. That's no better than saying Obama is not capable because he's half black.

Ageism is not a virtue. It never has been, it never will be. It is not a characteristic that great human beings have. A Presidential candidate should be chosen based upon merit, experience, and political views. To chose a candidate based upon race/age/ethnicity or what might not even happen - like he might kick the bucket in office - is petty at best.

Just my two cents.

Very poor analogy. Death is a certainty; cancer returning is NOT a certainty. And for someone to say that the cancer WILL return to someone he clearly doesn't favor sounds very much like he is banking on it happening.

I am QUITE sure that if I was mean enough to tell someone here who is a cancer survivor that their cancer will return, I would be censured. I would deserve to be as that is unconscionable. I really don't get why you believe that such nastiness is perfectly acceptable if the human being happens to be a presidential candidate.

Oh come on. There are old idiots and young idiots. Age doesn't guarantee wisdom anymore than youth guarantees good health. Look at the individuals and make informed decisions based on their abilities and qualifications. Generalities mean nothing.

McCain is Old. It is sad and painful to watch him now being interviewed. A once proud warrior reduced to a shell of his former self, fumbling and bumbling around.

His Patriotism back in the sixties is appreciated, but he really just needs a private nurse to rub his bunyons and his meds.

He does not really need this fight and I think he admits it to himself. He never expected to actually win the Republican nomination and now is scared to death.

It is a sad spectacle to witness. Kind of like Michael Jordan coming back with the Wizards.

You do realize that Churchil was the same age during WWII? Should the English have jettisoned him to his private nurse to rub his bunyons?

Mr. Obama is in deep doo doo if this is what you are selling.

McCain may have pulled it off back in the Day, as well.

Technology has made the World much faster today. McCain just won't be able to keep up, bless his heart.

The Federalist Society ranked past presidents, and ranked Ron Reagan as 8th best in history, with a ranking of "near great".

Reagan was a couple of weeks shy of 70 at inauguration, and was in office for eight years. McCain's age is only a concern to those opposing his election.

C'mon. McCain is no Reagan.

Reagan was everybody's great uncle, cozy and reassuring.

McCain just looks confused and ill tempered. Kind of a bitter old man trying to force a smile through his gritted teeth. Painful to watch.

And I am middle aged. I can't imagine how it looks to the energized youth of America.

Then what is Obama excuse for bumbling or rambling all the time. Is it he really doesnt know the anwer or is the ageism getting to him?

Ageism can be he is too young and inexperienced!

I will go with age, wisdom and experience over the younger, no wisdom, no judgement and poor decision making skills which are the tendacies of Obama.. anyday.

McCain doesnt struggle have as much as Obama when a tough question is asked. I want to slap him if he says uhhhhhmmmmmmm one more time. Get it out..pleeeeeease
