As a soon to be former Republican, new independent, I wouldn't vote for McCain even if Jesus endorsed him so having Romney as a running mate wouldn't make me more likely to vote for McCain.

Like Hillary Clinton, I suspect McCain's presidency would be a "my way or the highway" presidency and the VP choice will be some guy they send out to break bottles on ships and have tea and ride elephants in some small third world Asian country. In other words, the VP will be someone who is used to help McCain get elected and then he will be treated like some first lady doing photo ops.

I can't even fathom ever becoming a single issue voter. I think that is rather closed minded.

I really think that both the ultra liberal and ultra conservative part of each party are slowly losing ground.First you have to look at the congressional races to see the change. The main gains in the congress has been bluedog democrats. Conservatives in the republican party have lost alot of ground ;just look at their candidates for president. Eevn Romney who says Ron Reagan every tweo words does have the same record. Don't get me wrong Reagan will go down as one of the great presidents becuase of what he accomplished in foreign policy especially and a sense of greatness he brought to the country that even Obama recognises. But things just change with the needs of the country. Reagan like FDR was just the right man at the right point in history.

No. If Romney were a true conservative he would never have received all the media coverage and Republican votes during the primaries. The only true conservative this time is Paul and you know how despised he is with the media, the other candidates, and many others.
