It's going to be an interesting race...but I don't think Huckabee stands a chance. Thank goodness, too, because he's my last choice. Thompson will not get the nomination. It will end up being between Romney and McCain.

I think at this point it is McCains to lose. That means that the only real issue on the ballot next November will be Iraq because that is the only issue that he and Hillary have big differences on. Most of the economic and cultural issues they pretty much agree on. And the "hot button" issue of illegal immigration is turning out to be a non issue after all which is what I predicted.

I agree that McCain looks like nominee. I disagree about the money issue. The ol' boys at Republican Party Headquarters recently met over some martinis at the Palm Beach Country Club and finally decided to give McCain
enough money to "win one for the gipper". They didn't want an evangelical
Southerner(religion and golf don't mix) or a Mormon to win the nod. Freds'
been a disappointment but they all love his cute wife. If any evangelicals are reading this, I am wondering what they think of McCain. I remember very well here in Va when he made Jerry Falwell mad by his statement "evangelicals the likes of Falwell & Robertson have no place in the republican party". Anyway it will be interesting to see if evangelicals in the South will rally around McCain just because he is a republican who is courting their vote.
These gentlemen REALLY have to learn what our founding fathers wanted them to know, DO NOT bring your religion into American politics.

McCain wins a couple of states out of 50 and already he is the nominee? Well guess we dont need to vote then.
Funny thing is that Romney has almost double the number of delegates that McCain has, yet every time you turn on False News, Clinton News Network, and MSDNC, they are pushing McCain.
ROMNEY IS THE FRONT RUNNER RIGHT NOW. He is by far leading the total delegates won. The way the media ignores that fact and paints everything to look like McCain is a shoe in is simply disgusting, and I'm sick of our manipulative media controlling the elections.

Iraq is a declining issue. It works both ways for McCain. We are doing well in Iraq right now, McCain can claim he supported the troop surge and it will help him. However, Iraq is not making news anymore and is not the top issue-which is bad for McCain.
Immigration is a fading issue? Hardly. Immigration is the top issue for Republicans after the economy. Romney being a businessman has a leg up on the economy issue and Romney also takes a much stronger stance on immigration than any other candidate. Immigration is a campaign killer for McCain, he knows it.
