A new Florida primary poll fresh off the heals of Gingrich's impressive South Carolina win shows Mr. Gingrich leading Mr. Romney by 8% (34%-26%) in Florida.

No surprise here. The Romney team has a lot of work to do in FL.

Not surprised. We here in South Carolina just finished with the onslaught (oh all those calls and ads were too much!!). The one thing that I really walked away from with respect to Romney is his seeming lack of passion. He might have it but he's definitely not selling it.

Default This is good news!

Go Newt.

On a more serious note, his appeal is understandable. Romney doesn't have any fire. He's uninspiring and I see why he's struggling. Who else remains for the hardcore conservatives? Ron Paul isn't one of them. Santorum is just a Catholic version of Romney, only even less inspiring.

And then there's Gingrich. Newt has that visceral anger and indignance the right wingers want. In their view Obama just has no business in the White House, other than as a pizza delvery guy. They want their country back! And Newt promises to give it to them.

I don't know why there would be any surprise. The GOP has presented zero viable Candidates. Of course they will wobble.

I can assure you that I'll vote Newt in the Texas GOP primary. I sincerely hope the Republicans don't foul up this opportunity for us to have the most entertaining presidential campaign in our lifetimes.

Obama vs the Newt...

Can't you just picture it?

This whole GOP spectacle has been entertaining so far. It's becoming obvious that they aren't oriented towards issues (America faces many) but they ARE concentrated on hatred of the president. That's their prime motivation and Gingrich is their voice.

Face it...

If Romney heads the Republican ticket, this will be about as exciting as the 1996 snore fest where Bob Dole was buried.

I want to see Newt on stage with Obama, sinking ever deeper into dark emotions in a desperate angry irrational appeal to "take our country back!"

Plays out more like a wet tee shirt contest, that a political issues election.

Good looks and stupid as a rock are the only qualifications.

The Democrats haven't been this enthusiastic about a GOP front-runner since President Hoover. I can't say that I blame them, Newt is a walking target. He like a scandal onion. Peal back another layer and you'll find another scandal. The vast majority of both parties who really remember Newt Gingrich's tenure as Speaker can't stand the man.

The last thing I want is another four years of Obama. But Newt Gingrich? I don't think I can talk myself into voting for him. I voted for Obama in 2008 and I can't begin to tell you how much buyer's remorse I've had since. I promised myself I'd strategically vote for whoever stood the best chance to beat him. But confronted with Newt Gingrich, I don't think I could do it.

Barack Obama is at least a well meaning, albeit extremely misguided, decent human being. The same cannot be said for Newtie the Hutt. Newt's a self-centered narcissistic bully who likes to punish and demonize everyone who gets in his way. And Newtie the Hutt has the audacity to rip others apart for marital infidelity, then tell everyone that anyone taking him to task over his own adulteries and wives is "beyond despicable."

I wish you luck Repugnantcans. Enjoy the train wreck you're so enthusiastically choosing for yourselves. I'll vote Libertarian or write in Ron Paul.
