HERMAN Cain will endorse Newt Gingrich today for the GOP presidential nomination, FOX 5 Atlanta reported, citing sources.
Details of a formal announcement are reportedly still being worked out but a Gingrich campaign spokesperson told the station that a 2pm press conference local time had been scheduled in New York, which would follow a meeting with Donald Trump.

Aside from skirt chasers, both are big business, Wall Street kind of guys. So is Romney I guess, but Cain is not going to back him anymore than most of the right. If Cain does endorse Newt, it could be a real plus for Gingrich as he would get the stamp of approval from the perceived right. I can't believe that the T's are dumb enough to believe that Gingrich is one of them, but who knows.
Yeah, I can't believe it myself. He's been a Washington Insider for several decades now, and the "tea party" prides itself that it is composed of Washington Outsiders. Yeah right. Just like the Obama and the Democrats and establishment Left media tried to co-opt the Occupy movement, the GOP did the same with the tea party. The tea party is the same old movement as ever, just energizing the pro-war, pro-bankruptcy, pro neo-con crowd.
Seems Herman Cain has hit a snag. He is sitting on several million in campaign funds. He has only suspended his campaign which means he can keep raising money and can use the money in his fund to pay off debt, travel, pay staff, etc. He also still gets federal matching funds. Now, he can transfer these funds to Newt or set up a PAC and travel to endorse and speak for 'the cause' while promoting his book.
However, if he does endorse Newt, I think he would be called on to end his campaign and transfer the money to Newt...which Newt needs badly. I don't think Herman is ready to give up the cash. It comes in handy when you are travelling the country promoting your own self interests.
Some of the candidates want his campaign funds, especially Newt who really needs them.
