I'll be curious to see if this story gets any traction, but I'm sure it will be dismissed by the MSM and the left as being too soon to mean anything serious.

he polls well because he is moderate.

the only problem is a moderate cant win the gop nomination since majority of republicans are tea partiers according to the last poll i saw.

ive said it before and ill say it again, romney is a democrat.

As horrible as the economy is still! people are rethinking who they are going to vote for. People can only take so much. I have not seen significiant signs of a good recovery. High gas prices, with the most terrible housing criris, add unemployment figures, businesses shutting doors, people afraid to make investments, this clearly is not the hope and change most signed up for, at least i would hope not.

Voters recognize the name Romney and it is someone other than Obama. As the primaries progress, a clearer picture will emerge as to who will be defeating Obama in Nov 2012. Right now this is about name recognition and anti-Obama sentiment.

I didn't see the generic Republican poll yet, but I imagine that is very close as well.

its bad, not doubt about it.

similar example is in sports.

qb is playing like crap, crowd turns on him and starts booing him. they want change, so they bring in the backup qb. crowd is cheering. backup qb is what he is, a backup qb. fans demand change and they bring back the starter again.

the fans realize there is no hope because neither person is competent. you are then in a destructive cycle.

politics is exactly like that today.

people will hoot and holler for romney. they'll think hes the savior.

the problem with mitt romney though is he's not cam newton(number 1 draft pick, qb carolina panthers),
he's gus frerotte(a re-tread who has shown one or two glimpses, a false hope and a loser)

america will succeed when they get rid of the backup QB and replace the starter with a number 1 franchise building prospect like a peyton manning.

the problem with that is you rarely ever see them.

America will succeed when we start playing by the rules and sticking to the game plan...

I think first we need to see if this is just one poll, or do we have others to back it up. When it comes down to it, Obama still leads in the vast majority of polls, and he leads every Republican not named Mitt (in every poll)

If the average middle class american voter think Romney is the one who can solve their ecnomic problem that really says something about the poor quality of our education system. Or says something about the right wing propaganda network.
