Bad news keeps coming for the Romney campaign

Obama fundraising edges out Romney in August

Obama raised more than $114 million in August and Romney brought in just over $111 million. The two campaigns announced their fundraising numbers early Monday

Don't worry about it. Thats what happens when you invest early in defining your opponent and preparing for the election. The ground game's infrastructure is already in place. Romney is playing catch up.

August is when Flip-Flop Romney picked Lyin' Ryan, and also doesn't include the funds Obama raised during the Dem convention.

Nice!

Normally campaigns get a boost when they pick their VP, plus the convention should've opened up a few wallets. Not to mention Shelly Adelson and every other Uncle Moneybags in Romney's Rolodex being able to give unlimited funds. They ought to rename this place Wackyville, because that's just wacky.

Obama has to cover $5M of the $15M deficit from the DNC Convention, hence Obama actually raised $2M less than Romney..

1) Romney raised more than he had any previous month...

2) This does not include Super PAC/interest group fundraising. Unlimited funds cannot be given to Romney/the RNC.

Are you admitting that Obama has been trying to purchase the election with all his early spending?

No, I think he's saying that Obama has a better campaign strategy than Romney. He laid the groundwork by defining Romney in those early ads, and that left a lot of ground for Romney to make up.

And that one big advantage the Obama campaign has is the organization they have in place on the ground in just about every state. The Democrat's ground game made a huge difference in 2008. I'm frankly surprised the GOP didn't do more to emulate that successful strategy. They seem to think they can just throw up a flurry of negative ads in the final two months of the campaign and that will be enough, but it's not only about money.
