That's more than enough activity. We don't need any more new laws on the books for a while now. Only an OCD control freak would disagree.
It's strange that the Republicans said many times that we need to pay for infrastructure, but when Obama proposes a stimulus that will build new roads, they call it irresponsible spending. How many bridges will collapse until they agree it's time to invest in our own country instead of rebuilding others we invaded?
How many oil rigs will continue to explode before safety is more important than profit? If you ate something tonight that made you deathly ill, would you argue with me that the USDA needs to review their safety programs? People scream "less government" until something happens, like a flood or hurricane, and then they ask "Where's the government?" I once asked someone who said we need to cut government agencies what the F stood for in FEMA and she didn't know. Seriously!

The ORIGINAL stimulus of $870 Billion dollars had approx $40 BILLION in it for these very projects.
What happened?
Remember early this summer, when obama/biden came out with their nifty new slogan, Recovery Summer!? They said that summer would see ALL THESE road projects in full bloom.
Remember all that?
Tell me - how can $50 Billion succeed where $900 Billion has failed?
