In my honest opinion, building another facility that drains the already limited water resources this arid city has is an extremely horrendous idea.

Unless they recycle and reuse their water.

That ought to be a condition of water parks setting up in El Paso. People want to swim, even in the desert, and this would be better than backyard pools (IMHO).

We didn't really expect you to post anything positive, did we?

As long as there is a collection system and water is recycled I think it will be a great idea!

Wet 'N' Wild has been recycling and sanitizing its own water supply since 1979. They use their deep wells for water on their properties for their slides, lazy river, etc and only use the local water for its food service and bathrooms.

I remember reading an article about WnW and how they manage their own water but I can't find it atm. Anyway, getting another water park in the area can be done without hurting the limited water supply in this area.

Well also consider that they want to add a sports plex in the mix as well, and use the stadium for concerts and high school games. Would really help NE El Paso.

Kvia just had a story about flyers going around that were against the water park. As of now there still has not been an official announcement about the plans or which company is the one that will be involved with the project , Im willing to bet its not Wet N' Wild expanding, but rather an outside company such as Hawaiian Falls. Im just tired of waiting and hoping they go public soon.

I think el paso needs this. You already have had a lot of success with the triple a team so keep the momentum going!

Wet and Wild is located in the far northwest corner of El Paso County. A more central water park on the east side makes sense as the east side comprises 85% of El Paso's population. Wet and Wild should consider a 2nd location to preempt competition.
