WASHINGTON — Gasoline prices will likely continue to fall in the next few weeks as lower oil costs and reduced demand push the price at the pump lower. But a steep drop is unlikely.
The nationwide average price for a gallon of regular was $3.809 on Monday, the Energy Department said.
Yeah, and we can all start driving across town for some Dunkin Donuts, then make another trip across town later in the day for for some McBurgers & fries. Put the bike back in the shed ( this fitness crap is waaay too hard anyway....back to the couch ), and cancel those plans to trade in the SUV for a Corolla. Cheap gas is back to stay. It'll never go back up to 4 bucks a gallon. That was just an abberration. Old habits die hard!

Clearly this is all George Bush and his oil buddies fault...oh wait, the prices went down? Well then clearly supply and demand work NOW....but when it goes back up, it will be those guys at it again.

LOL...Its probably Bush's fault because he and his big oil buddies were shorting oil. Yeah thats the ticket...
Anyone who watches the market knows that after the price of oil hits a new high, it then drops some, but sooner or later it will rise again, to new and higher levels.
This does not make me the least bit happy, but this small drop in cost at the pump is not a sign that all is well.
We need to be spending our time finding how to free ourselves from dependence on foreign oil, not gloating because it went down a quarter to a price that seemed impossible only a year ago.
We were so shocked and then used to $4 dollar and more a gallon gas, that now just seeing the number "3" at the beginning of the new price sends people on a false psychological high. Yeah, gas is dropping "lower." Then it hovers in the mid to high "3's" stays there.....don't you see that's called conditioning? It will become the new low or new norm until they can milk you again, supply and demand or not.....It's a game. It's a sham...It's a scam..
I say just enjoy it because the produti9on is too low unless some countries quit graowing their ecopnomy like china and india. Overal the production is too low in teh worold compared to demand, Hopefully we wil at least satrt drili8ng to stop some of the money that is leaving this country to stop and if a crisis effects the crude product be less effected than we would be otherwise.

Quite true. When gas prices go way down to $1.99/gal then I'll smile and acknowledge that prices have come down.
This has been going on for a long time. Watch..prices will next spike to $4.50 or so and then settle back to $4.00 and everyone will be "relieved that prices have come down".
