It is still much higher than last year, which was higher then the year before...amd so on back to 1999. The long-term trend is up and I am happy to be breaking free of this addiction myself. There are alternatives, and we need to develop them, and cut our use of fossil fuels.

That is waht the congress should have thought about i9n the 70's after the embargo. As it is now many of us will never see the alternative really mean much.Even then they will not be cheaper most likely. I can imagine waht the infrastruture coast will be and the number of year tio compalete any meaningful alternative to oil. Looking at all the alternative thus far none reallty amount to !% as a energy source. The one that comes the closest is wood ;believe it or not.

Yes, it's expensive, but just as with any technology, alternative energy will gradually become cheaper and more marketable. And for those who can't afford the premium, decreased gasoline usage from the people who can should bring the price of gas down. Alternatives will become very marketable if today's prices are sustained. It's not a matter of if, but when...

Funny, I have been using waste wood as energy since hurricane Andrew. The future fuel will be algae, I am confident of this. The difference will be that people will have to cut back on travel and go back top a more traditional lifestyle.

If it drops to $3.50, that's good enough for me....if it'll even drop that low...

The experts that say the price will drop to only $3.50, are they the same ones who said that the price of oil would be $200 by the end of summer.

The media needs to be honest and say no experts can determine the future cost of oil or gasoline or predict the course of the US Economy!

That's because the real experts are the ones out there in industry actually doing something productive - as opposed to running off at the mouth on CNN.

Wow...gas prices went from 3.44/gal to 3.56/gal overnight in Cent OK. What a racket...It takes at least 40 days for crude to go from wellhead to gas pump.
