Hi all, I just brought my dog home from the vet like 30 min ago, he got neutered today. well he is hyper and wanting to go outside as the neighbors dog is in heat and he loves her. he is whineing and acting crazy panting really hard. the vet said he is suppose to stay calm and stay indoors with light activity for 10 days. is he suppose to be this hyper?

He still has all those hormones from before his neuter. Having a dog in heat next door is probably bothering him a lot more than his surgical pain.

Was he hyper before? If not its just that his brain says he can; his nose is still working and he doesn't realise he can't.

Yes, your guy needs to rest, for sure. And, your neighbors need to keep their female inside, except for accompanied potty breaks, while she's in heat. Why don't they know this? Every male in the neighborhood will be after her.
