I hate the smell of day (or more) old poo in the trash bins. We keep our bins in the garage and have pick up twice a week, but I can still smell it. Yuck!

My solution is to bag the poo and take the bag home with me. I then untie the bag, dump the poo into the toilet and flush it away. The poo bag doesn't smell too bad and can go into the bin without difficulty.

I'm with the others - don't use someone else's bin. Even if it is pick=up day, it still makes the bin smell. I like Miu's idea of taking along a larger plastic bag, to carry the pick-up bags home with you. That way, no matter how many dogs or how many times they poop, you have one bag to carry!

I would never put my dog's poo in someone else's trash bin, just as I wouldn't expect them to put their trash in mine. Please be more considerate of your neighbors. No wonder people don't like dogs!

Thanks! I suppose to be more fashionable, we could use a vinyl lined diaper bag for the poop.

When I see pictures of those professional city dog walkers, the ones walking ten dogs at a time, I wonder how they manage to deal with the poop cleanup! I'm struggling with only two dogs.

Hi, cr, I've got to agree with everyone else here. It does not make me happy when folks drop garbage into my bins, like used fast food wrappers with half-eaten burgers. I don't think garbagemen need to deal with someone's sloppy, disgusting trash, either - I sure don't want to!

I like miu's idea & I always take a few bags with me to "double up". If we are on a long walk, I just drop the bag on the corner, and pick it up on return.

And people letting their cats roam the neighborhood, who do poop in other people's yards....not crazy about that either!

I only use other people's trash cans if it's trash day and the can hasn't been emptied yet. Otherwise, I take the bag home.
