I was only noticing the sugar and fat content when I purchased this for my dog. I put peanut butter in his Kong toys. This has ingredients that I don't know about or if it is safe for a dog: tocopheryl acetate, pyridoxine hydrochloride. The other ingredients listed seem safe like molasses, monoglyerides, vegetable oil (rapeseed and cottonseed). Can anyone tell me if it is okay with these ingredients~? It is Kroger's brand. Thanks.
Tocopheryl acetate is a form of Vitamin E- used as a preservative
Pyridoxine hydrochloride is a a form of Vitamin B-6
In moderation, all is well. The rhetorical question becomes how often is it used. I don't know if I would use it more than every now and then. Daily might or many times a week might be too much. It can throw off the nutrient balance of a good dog food and is high in fats. Rapeseed is the same as canola oil, which is " meh" for dogs. Cottonseed is a cheap oil, derived from plants heavily sprayed with insecticides and heavily processed.
So, sure peanut butter is fine as long as it is not substantial part of the dog's diet.

You can buy real peanut butter without all the additives and sugar.
Are you refering to the health food store~? I shop there and will look when I go next time. I got the healthiest one from Kroger's right now.
