Wild dogs are everywhere, including the island-like continent, Australia (Dingos), and even North America (Carolina dogs). But, there are no wild dogs in South America. Why is that?
actually there are wild canids in south america, the short eared dog (Atelocynus microtis) commonly called the short eared fox though is not acutlaly a fox, and the bush dog (Speothos venaticus), which despite looking something akin to a tazmanian devil IS actually a canine species.
theres also the manned wolf

None of them you mentioned look much like a wild dog, like the Dingo or Carolina dogs. They (South American "dogs") look more like wild pigs or big rats.
doesnt mean there not WILD DOGS...scientifically they are all DOGS...
and the short eare dog looks liek a fox and the manned wolf looks NOTHING like a pig or big rat...the bush dog looks almost like someone mated a small bear and a dog together (again they look alot like tazmanian devils or wolverines) but they ARE dogs, and they ARE wild...
also if you spend any time in SA around the feral pack you woudl see that many of them do look similar to carolina/caanan dogs and dingos...its just a case of multi generational breeding and evolution...but dingos arent "truly" wild dogs, there not natural like a wolf or fox is, they are actually essentially a "deevolution" of domestic dogs...dingos are what would happen if humans dissapeared and the domestic dog was to fend and breed for itself, EVENTUALLY all purebreed dogs would dissapear and the offspring would begin to look more and more like the dingo
the origional classificaiton of the dingo was a supsepceis of omestic dog (canis familiaris dingo), its not until relitivly reacently that theyve been reassigned as a member of the lups group and are now canis lupus dingo)...
