Jett eats twice a day, although he probably could eat 3 times a day with the food sorted into 3 meals vs 2.

He eats Taste of the Wild Pacific Harvest, which he loves. Before he would eat at his leisure, leave some food, come back. It had us worried b/c we are used to vacuum cleaner dogs that finish their food within minutes.

Maybe it's the type of food? There is some excellent advice here on raw foods, etc. if you want to go more that route. Good luck!

7am and 5pm. If I'm preoccupied and miss the time, Nanners reminds me with the most annoyingly high-pitched demanding bark she can produce. She can tell time, that Nanners.

Artie's the opposite -- he's more of a social eater in that he's more likely to eat his food when I'm eating mine. He'll eat alone in the kitchen if he's REALLY hungry, but otherwise he waits until others are eating as well.

Edison eats at noon and again at 6:30pm. Noon time eating is with my parents at their home while we're at work and the 6:30 eating is with us during dinnertime. He has some snacks in between.

Same for Bandit. Plus, he's my official plate-cleaner and pre-washer.

Macie eats twice/day. Once around 6 or 7 (whenever we get up and make coffee) then again at 5 or so. She starts "hinting" at around 4 if anyone is home. She'll walk over and stare at you. Her tummy clock is pretty accurate.

Twice per day, 1/2 cup each time. She also gets two small treats in her treat ball each morning. She's 9.5 and the vet has commented on how well her weight has been maintained. Now her pet parent, that a whole different story. I blame my opposable thumbs.....yeah, that's it.

there are many days that they eat very little of the kibble in their bowls......

for medicine, i swipe a finger through a jar of peanut butter to get a good sized gob and push the pill into the middle of that.... they lick the peanut butter (and the pill) off of my finger, none the wiser..... if i am just giving a pill to one and not the other, i still have to give the other a finger of peanut butter.....

Where do you get these puzzle toys?

Nina Ottosson makes some of the best ones.

- Dog Products (http://www.nina-ottosson.com/DogProducts.htm - broken link)

Other popular one are the Buster Cube and Tug a Jug. I'm pretty sure my dog would never cuddle with me again if I made him work for food. I already have to beg him to eat, never mind if it required actual work!
