Good Afternoon,
We might be moving to the Denver Metro Area from Virginia. Looking for advice in what neighborhood or surrounding town will be our best fit. I am retired military, so we will need to have a medical provider that accepts Tricare Prime. I will be working near the Denver International Airport (DIA) if we move. Looking at a safe, nice neighborhood with a 35 to 40 min commute to work. Looking at 250K to 300K. I've always been huge into the outdoors so am looking forward to the possibility of skiing, hiking, off-road activities, whitewater kayaking, etc. and sharing these activities with my family. I'am also into cycling.

Wish List
-Good High Schools with strong academic performance---Rated 8 and above
-Nice Safe Neighborhood.
-3-4 Bedroom with 2-3 Bathrooms.
-Garage, Fireplace, and walk in closets.

Thank you so much!!!!

I can't help on the health care but in terms of commute time and high school quality, you can squeak into Broomfield for under $300K. Something like this.
3211 W 10th Avenue Pl, Broomfield, CO 80020 is For Sale - Zillow
Note the absence of air conditioning which is probably why it isn't selling. The heating is baseboard which means hot water. Adding AC is expensive (approx. $20K) without duct work.

For your commute you might want to negotiate a toll roads pass as part of your package. It will help substantially to get you into the range you are looking for from Broomfield.

Price will be tough, but try Aurora 80015, 80016, maybe 80018.

It has a swap cooler which is just fine 95% of the time.

In your price range and to be closer to the airport I would definitely check out Aurora near E 470.

Not to discourage you, but I would advise you NOT to move to Denver. I'm a native and I'm trying to get out of here. Everything here has changed in the last 10 years: The roads are bumper to bumper everywhere you go all time, finding a job is nearly impossible because of all the people/competition, and rents have sky-rocketed. I did not grow up this way and I hate it. This WAS a great place to live and grow up, but it's not anymore.

I could say more, but I'm sure you understand what I'm saying.

I concur, especially the traffic.

Traffic is all a matter of perspective. If you think it's bad here, try living in Austin or Dallas-Fort Worth. Traffic here is a breeze compared to there.
