Hamburgers don't get any better than the Cherry Cricket.
I would second Benny's.
A shout out for Chad's on 6th and Union in Lakewood.
Le Central is a great affordable French place - make a reservation!!
Go to Casa Bonita and don't even bother trying to eat but that is another classic Colorado experience that everyone should have. Your kids will love it. No kids? I highly recommend that you introduce yourself to Mary Jane before you go in it'll make it a lot better.
You must try The Fort at least once.
Special date night try Aix. My favorite restaurant in all of Colorado!!

There is a good french place in Lodo also called La Rouge. I think on the weekends it doubles as a club and can get pretty packed but the menu is not super expensive (yet not cheap) I recomend the duck burger... it is amazing! Good selection of martinis also.. one of which is 100 bucks

Ah sushi den yes that is a denver institution. They just built another sushi joint catty courner to the den on pearl. Owned by the same people I guess and same menu since its almost impossible to get into sushi den without reservations

I loved the Cherry Cricket's hamburgers, but hated the cigarette smoke.
That must be all gone now with the smoking ban? I always liked the Cricket because it was so *not* Cherry Creek. They had good Greek salads, too. (And I could walk there for St Patrick's Day)

I agree with Aix for a date night, you had to get there early before they ran out of entrees but it was really, really good food, more expensive than Le Central, but we always seemed to like it better.

Some of my favorite Italian food was at Lucca d'Italia (across from Benny's) and Pagliacci's on west 33rd. Going to Pagliacci's always reminded me of my childhood in New York. The minestrone is incredible.

The new place was reviewed by 5280 I want to say in the August edition. They gave it very high marks and said that it would soon become as popular as the Den.
