I know this may already be a thread, but I simply cannot find it anywhere. I did a search and everything. So if this question has already been answered...I apoligize and please feel free to point me in the right direction. Thank you!

Hypothetically speaking......if I were to relocate to the big city of Denver and would want to enjoy a nice view of the mountains/city and walking distance to many places or by Public Transportation (restaurants, bars, stores, etc.), where would I look for apartments? I have found a couple of apartment complexes that interest me using rent.com....Diamond at Prospect, Apartments Denver Place, Common Park West, The Parliament Apartments, and the Alta Springs......these are just a few places that caught my interest....what do you guys think? Anyone live in these places or near them that can comment? any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!

Michigan Girl, you need to either be here or have someone here helping you. I got curious and checked Alta Springs, which advertises being close to light rail and the Denver Tech Center. It is not really close to either, and it is definitely no-where near downtown.

You could either look for an apartment in downtown as your topic states, which is probably going to be very expensive, or you could look for a place within walking distance of light rail but not located downtown. There are lots of the latter along both the southeast and southwest lines.

That is exactly the kind of comment I was looking for....these apartments were advertising too good to be true. Thank you so much for your honest comment. I really appreciate it. You just cant trust these places if you dont know what your looking for...like me. I plan on taking a trip to Denver here soon......I will just have to look for myself. Thank you!

I currently live downtown in an apartment complex called the metro apartments.
The Metro Apts.

Great location and by everything!!

or if you search on craigslist, just type in LoDo into the search. That's lower downtown and sounds like a spot you'd want to check out.

Pretty much any place in the city would give you all of the above. Only you can decide if a place fits your tastes.

Default Colorado where to move

Hey there, We are moving to Colorado as well, my husband is already there seeking work. My best friend lives in Lakewood and the apartments there are nice and the view of the mountains is great. Five minute drive and you can be up in the mountains. Close to town and you get the warmer weather in the winter and less snow being in the foothills.

Good luck to you!

Ladies, I am in the process of moving from Chicago to Denver and I have looked at everything imaginable. Don't be afraid to use Craigslist. Use "ballpark" or "lodo" or "16th Street mall" as a search It's map feature of places to live can be invaluable. Downtown Denver is much more expensive than nearby and surrounding neighborhoods. If it is a loft that you look for, be prepared to spend north of $1300 a month on rent. Some places to look are: Premier Lofts, the Metro (mentioned above), Ballpark Lofts, Bank Lofts,.

Across the frewway is a very nice and more affordable neighborhood called Highlands which will offer much more affordable housing, nice restanratnts and bars as well as lots of folks your age. There is a footbridge that leads from Highlands to downtown Denver, or its a very short cab ride. Other areas that are close to downtown that you may want to get to know are Congress Park, City Park, Uptown, Cheesman Park, Baker, Capital Hill and Golden Triangle.

As I mentioned, I have had very good sucess with Craigslist as a source for places to live.

Cheeseman Park, Capitol Hill, Uptown. Maybe even City Park and City Park West.

Lodo is not a good place to live, nothing but bars, no grocers, parking etc.

Across I-25 you do have some areas that are cheaper, but they are that way for a reason. Similar isolation.
