I am planning two week long trips to DE in 2013 - one in April or May and the other in October, also some weekend trips may be in store to do some house hunting once my house goes on the market in July.

I usually find a week long condo rental in the Lewes area, but, I happened to come across some really good reviews of the historic Brick Hotel in Georgetown. Sounds like it might be fun to stay there for possible shorter trips or even for a full week.

Just wondered if there are any locals who have stayed at this historic hotel or been there to dine.

Default The Brick

Yes......being natives, we've been to The Brick many times, to dine, not to stay the night. We enjoy their food and the atmosphere, never tiring of looking at the old photos in the dining rooms. I especiallly like that they don't have "dinner" but "supper". That's what we've always called the late meal of the day in Delaware. There's much to see in that old mansion, and I've seen most of the rooms, each one being different. The ladies and gents necessary rooms, on the first floor, are interesting, too. If you like "teas" they have some lovely ones. Our most recent visit there was Return Day this month. We always try to view the parade and events under The Brick's balcony.
Here's a link with photos of the interior Georgetown Delaware Hotels and Lodging - The Brick Hotel on the Circle - Inn, Conference Center, Restaurant & Tavern

Speaking of "teas" - another interesting place is Tea For Two on State Street, in Dover. Sorry, no link found.

Or, a Bed & Breakfast in Dover - The State Street Inn. Yvonne & Co. have done a terrific job with that property. It's a favorite of many. State Street Inn
