In looking at homes in Milford, we also came across some nice homes for sale outside the Georgetown city limits. Looking for any information about this area:
Crime
Medical facilities
Water quality
Flooding
Quality of the area builders
Areas to avoid
Traffic
Health Issues
Areas to avoid
Thank you for any information or suggestions

- little insight - Georgetown Fire Department - the last Friday night in February there is an all male oyster eat - that features beer out of a tank truck, hard boilded eggs, egg salad sandwiches, raw oysters and lots of dancing - everyone (male) needs to go once in their life - go twice and you are a ................ uhhhmmm....... real Delawarean. Ladies - fear not the Lewes Fire Department has a similar event that night - "shrimp eat" - my application for waiter is under review.

- Little better info - Georgetown is the county seat of Sussex County - which also holds "Returns Day" - on the Thursday after the election - where the winner and loser of the previous Tuesday election come - ride together in a carriage/ car and stop by the grandstand to "bury the hatchet" in a log. Nice little town square which you probably already have seen - not too much for fine dining - but several belly busting family restaurants. Recently the farming industry surrounding Georgetown has drawn a pretty large Hispanic population - but the town is adjusting snd providing services and accomodating this popultion influx. To have some fun ask a real Georgetown native how to say words like "tire" or "fire" or "borrow" or "oyster" - DelTech just outside of town on Route 18 offers a large variety of adult continuing education opportunities - the Votech on Route 9 - also but not quite as much. I like Georgetown if you want to live in a town like it use to be - but still have shopping conveniences without having to drive a distance.
