Sounds like I need to wander down to Rehobeth and the outlets soon to strategize my holiday shopping! Our list of who we want to give to is longer than I am tall!

Back to the original topic (no problem on the straying, since I started the thread).... does anyone know WHAT was going on in the Walmart parking lot last night? Don't know what happened and when, but about 7:15 pm Tuesday, T & I went to Tractor Supply across Rt 13. The whole side of the parking lot nearest the garden center was filled with flashing blue lights, red lights, and I think a few of those BIG spot lights (like road crews use at night). Whatever it was, was either actually in the parking area or very near that side entrance close to the new center. It was still the same when T & I left Tractor Supply right before 8 pm.

Sadly, I seldom catch the local news (or any TV, for that matter), so did anyone hear of anything? It was big enough it should have made the 11 pm or whatever time the "late" news comes on! Help me out here, folks.

Mary

we drove down that busy street today around 5 and it is truly busy, but nothing we don't see every day in my neck of the woods.

Jonalyn,

If the location of Westminster Village is where I'm thinking (roughly), traffic CAN be pretty busy along the main thoroughfare.
But you are right; it can all be relative depending on where you are comparing it to.

I think (and its just my gut), that heavier traffic along there will come in spurts (such as when Kraft Foods and Playtex shifts end or change), and can vary like Route 13 can. I don't know how mobile your mom is, but I am sure you and your brother will find the right situation for her.

i dont mean to be negative but nearly all new strip malls in Delaware have at least two of those stores.(Doller Tree). Does anyone know the tenets in the new stripmall in Seaford, beside Lowes?

Thumbs up new shopping

Circuit city is coming to Dover. Didn't read about this one in the paper.
It is across from the Mall and next to Furniture & More.
I wonder what else might be on the horizon ?

i am surprised Dover doesnt have at least 1 Chilis. Where i live, Westford MA we are a suburb of about 22,000 and have a chilis, applebees, Mc D, etc. and over 1.5 million square feet of office space. Westford also is not like Middletown, not stripy or sprawling, Westford fought a Walmart years ago. Type in Westford against Walmart or something as such and you'll see why we arent stripy.

I may have overlooked this in this thread, but we have an Atlantic Book store across from the north of Dover Walmart. I spend a lot of time there, and really don't need a Barnes & Noble. About Dollar Tree, I was a big fan until I came to my senses and found EVERYTHING in there is made in China. Nothing in there is from the good old U.S.A. I was in the Camden Walmart yesterday and was looking for candles. I've started reading those labels and found Made In U.S.A. candles for less money than those made in China.

That's a great link. We can watch as new stores sign on to all of their malls. Thanks so much.
