Delly, I may have missed the latest on this, but as I recall the bookstore complaints in part centered around no chairs, no coffee, so not a good place to meet potential friends? Maybe that was it. As for me, I've found they often don't carry a book I want and won't order it.

I've had a Barnes & Noble gift certificate for a few months now and not enough time to travel to use it! Thanks for the email addresses - I'm sending them one now!

Now that the crazy holiday season is officially over, I'd be interested in hearing how everyone found shopping in the "greater" Dover area. I for one had no problem finding lots of things for everyone on my list; in fact, it was the most successful season for our family in many years. And we did not have to go to Christiana Mall or the outlets at the beach!

Hi Mary,
I ordered a good bit on line this year before we left for Italy. the rest were mostly certificates. I was sick when we arrived back from Italy and it took me 3 weeks to adjust to the time zone. Needless to say, I wasn't moving too fast so Certificates and on line was the best way to go this year. I just wanted to get through the holidays which were very nice by the way.
Now we are venturing out in 2008 which seems like a mystery and adventure.
2008 is GOING to be a good year. I'm starting the year out with a positive attitude.

Hi Mary! I did well, also, and never left the Dover area. Macy's seems to be the easiest place for me, and I'm not a "SHOPPER" ! I bought almost everything there. You won't see me back in the Dover Mall until I need to get a birthday present for someone, and I'm hoping I don't have to go back there . I guess it's too much to ask for someone to build a nice department store down in the Camden area ?? I know, I know........the more I get, the more I want!

Glad to see a few replies... I think most regulars are exhausted like me! I found shopping in Dover area easy, but I spent a ton of time and a little money at Spence's Bazaar and auction. Most of those I "gift" to enjoy the unique things I find at the auctions or homemade things I craft and do, so the season was lots of fun for me. Delly, I am not a mall shopper either, but with the kids I'm sure I will get to know the movie theater at Dover Mall quite well soon. And a nice department store in Camden... Delly, Miss Delly, don't you know we have Wal-mart??? And a super one at that... what more do ya want in a dept store??? Isn't that the Sam Walton theory? My neighbor's son has been a Wal-mart employee for about 4 yrs now, so I had to get that plug in for the neighbor mama. Personally, I have a soft heart for K-mart of days gone by... the blue light specials always make me smile for the old times.

Boy, its late as usual, and I am rambling yet again. Listening to Robin Williams on the David Letterman show in the background... I love Robin Williams and he just got back from entertaining the troops in Iraq.

Night my friends!

Mary

There is a K-mart on Route 13 near Kohl's in Dover. It's on the east side of the street with Golden Corral, Olive Garden, Lonestar Steak House, etc.
