Glad to hear from you Camper!! (allergies are hitting me too - I've gone thru the bad contractor thing -not fun - and hurts that you spent money for shoddy work)
Just wanted to check on you TX folks!! Hope you aren't in danger and the air is breathable.
Thanks, Flamingo. I'm across town from the fires so no problem here. The sky is overcast but it's due to the weather, not the fires.
I can also sympathize with both Camper's and your bad contractor issue. Before I found the great contractor who did my remodeling I went through many bad contractors/handymen. My guy got out of the business (he's too much of a perfectionist to make a living at it), so now I'm back to using the internet to find contractors/handymen again. I wish we could all sit down over a bottle (or two) of wine and compare stories.
I take Alavert for my allergies. It's awesome -- it doesnt raise your blood pressure and it melts in your mouth. I even mentioned it to my doctor and he said he uses it too -- and he's the best doctor I've ever had, so that's a good recommendation.
I had a bad sinus surgery in 1977 (I could tell you stories about bad surgeons too) so my sinuses are always susceptible to infection. I shouldnt admit it but I buy the antibiotic Keflex from another country (no prescription needed) so I always have it on hand for the 1-2 times a year that I get a sinus infection.
Glad to hear you're okay - I take Alavert too! I have to get it from Amazon, can't find it in the local drug stores. When I saw my Dr. for a regular visit she was having allergy issues and I told her about it. I don't like to take anything though unless necessary (I know, it's not the best) I seem to build up a resistance to meds. - I took one just a while ago though - I went out and scooped up a ton of leaves (filled up my huge yard waste can) - so I figured I needed to, I'll pay for it.
Not looking forward to my trip this weekend - they are calling for heavy rain tomorrow, high winds Fri. (when I leave and it's a long drive through high mountains
Knock on wood, I haven't had a sinus infection for many yrs. (and don't want one again)
Flamingo, I should take Alavert more regularly -- if I did, I might not get the sinus infections. But I never remember to take it until I'm really stopped up.
I read about the heavy rain/snow heading your way. Take care and stay inside, as the flooding may be bad.
- and I won't be here. Dr. said to take regularly but like I said, I seem to build up a tolerance (at least I did when I was younger, LOL) - and don't want to risk it not working. I'll be inside tomorrow but can't avoid the driving Fri. (and it's really high in mountains so winds "get" you) - trying to not stress myself out more than I am already, hahaha.

Be careful Friday! Check bank in when you can to let us know you didnt get clown off a mountain.
You guys may be on to something with your Alavert but honestly nothing works if you don't take it. Ha!! That's my problem.
I can guarantee it will rain Saturday. Hubby and i are headed to the new Ikea.
Let us find something and it will rain for sure.
Glad everyone's ok. Thought sure we'd get a tornado in the middle of my roofing job.
