WHOA!!!! Calm down.

Here are a few life lessons that will help you go a LONG way in life:

1. Some of us are just here to have fun. Relax.

2. In REAL life it DOES matter EXACTLY what city a business or home lies in. In the REAL world we pay TAXES to the CITY that our property is in. My house here is IN the city limits of Garland therefore I pay taxes to them. I can not tell them that I'm "in" another city even if the city limit line is 10 feet from my property line.

3. These things also matter when it comes to schools our children are allowed to attend. There are PLENTY of neighborhoods that one side of the street is in one school district and their neighbors across the street are in another. The schools will NOT let you attend their school if you do not live "IN" their district.

4. The postal service. While the zipcode does dictate where mail is to be sent you still need to put the right city/town. There are MANY cases where cities have the same street name. I'd like to get my mail Same goes for other deliveries like UPS, FedEx and companies that deliver. We MUST have the CORRECT city name. We run a business w/ trucks making deliveries all day long all over the North Texas area and that includes Mesquite. We MUST know the EXACT city they are in.

5. No, the "whole town of Mesquite" has NOT been saying that Eastfield is "IN" Mesquite nor have they said that St. Pius is "IN" Mesquite. I know many people that have grown up in Mesquite and they will all say they are IN Dallas. Just because a majority of their "base" comes from people that reside "IN" Mesquite does not mean the business is as well if their address is Dallas.

6. Phone prefixs. You can't go off of those much anymore - actually never really have. It is NOT based on a "city limit" line but rather by where the phone companies CO is located. Certain prefixs belong in certain CO areas. Also, in recent years people have been able to take their phone number with them when they move depending on the phone company.

7. No one is "knocking" you down. We have just simply tried to make you aware of the REAL LIFE way of things out here in the big world.
