Pay would be good but my point was they would prefer not to be used as political tools or scapegoats (aka Ebola 2014 Dallas). They don't care about pay, they care that misleading stats like "bed percentage" or "positivity rate" are being used to mislead the public and to make there jobs worst all to boost the ego/public perception of politicians
whatever it was, people lives were lost and we are still losing every day due to this incompetence... Not that this pandemic has been handled like a charm by any country or leader . but we could have definitely been better.

Anyway we can all argue what we could have done or how it could have been handled but its not over yet . so there will be time for retrospection later

The only setup and exaggeration is from the man himself. Political opponents will always be out for you, but one can only stand up there and tell so many easily corrected lies so many times. Life is A and B ALL THE TIME. People make it grey to fit their narrative. Just as you are here. The stats are bad. This is all bad. ITS BAD. We're making up too many stats to save face. This was just handled badly.

And yet state and local officials could have made these Monday Morning QBs are talking about and yet none did, but that doesn't fit their political agenda.

At the end of the day we live in a free country and have been treated accordingly for the most part.

Again this very thread is a pure example of the over reaction of people regarding Covid. This thing is a glorified flu. Not a hoax, not some made up thing, but a serious situation that has been way overblown.

You are right about Texas Tribune numbers. They are way off from "City of Dallas" numbers being presented by the Mayor. Texas Tribune is showing 2293 beds available and 244 ICU beds available for "North Central Texas" region that includes DFW metroplex.

As per the latest numbers for City of Dallas from the Mayor's daily email:
Total beds: 5846 (----> Reduced by 260 from 6106 from a day before; no idea if this is an error or a correction)
Beds occupied: 4218 (72%) (----> Increased from 4143 a day before; because of reduction in "total beds", the % beds available jumped from 68% yesterday to 72 % today)
Total ICU beds: 939 (----> Reduced from 968 from a day before; no idea if this is an error or a correction)
ICU beds occupied: 654 (70%) (Reduced from 679 a day before, which is a good sign)
Total ventilators: 961
Ventilators in use: 372 (39%) (Increased from 365 a day before)
