Is Flower Mound a nice place to live? How are the schools and safety of the area? Is it considered to be a part of Dallas or is it a completely different city?

How are house prices in flower mound? Funimation Productions is located in flower mound so I’m interested in the area

It's a high-end bedroom community with great schools. LISD serves the area, but the feeder patters to Flower Mound High School and Marcus High School are some of the best in the DFW area. It is its own separate town and is pretty large. Most of it is construction from the 1980s-present, but the far west side still has a country feel and is relatively undeveloped...and incredibly pricey. It has awesome amenities as far as parks, libraries, etc. go. We go to Heritage Park's splash pad often.

Housing prices are similar to many of the other nice suburbs in the DFW area. You need to plan on at least $250K to get something decent. A 3500 sq ft home in some of the nicer communities (like Wellington) will be approaching $500K now.

It's a great place for families. It would be incredibly boring for a single person.

Yes, it’s a very nice place to live and quite safe. Schools are excellent. It’s not part of Dallas, it’s a suburb about 20-25 miles northwest of Dallas. Has easy access to DFW airport.

Housing prices are above average for the DFW area. Housing stock ranges from typical suburban tract-type neighborhoods up to multiple million dollar estate properties with acreage. Lower home prices are next door in Lewisville.

I noticed it’s close proximity to the airport, is noise pollution from airplanes a problem?

We considered Flower Mound but went further north because of the noise factor. Someone posted a great map of noise in the DFW area, maybe they will see this and re-post. We choose to be on the north side of Lake Lewisville. The planes are more like white noise this far out. Occasionally a low flyer is heard, but the closer you are to DFW, the more air traffic. Good Luck finding your Happy Place.

Yes. It's terrible. Your windows rattle open and nobody sleeps. Between that and the horrible schools and inconvenient location, home prices haven't appreciated one bit.

Living in FM for almost 10 years now. Airplane noise is last of my concerns. Pretty much if you are within 20 miles around the airport, you’ll hear some airplane noise. I haven’t done any research of the flights over my house, since I rarely hear them.
Hope the following link help you identify the areas directly under the flight path if you are too concerned. Email or call the DFW noise department in this news link.

When we first moved here, we had an apartment right at the border of Grapevine and Flower Mound. All joking aside, the planes flew very, very low. It was deafening when trying to enjoy the pool, and it was really noisy while trying to sleep.

When we were house hunting in FM, we were standing in one backyard and there were about 6 planes lined up ready to land, straight across the backyard. While other homes the planes were far less noticeable, OP is not being ridiculous to ask the question.

OP, do check the flight map. We live 9 miles from the airport in Tarrant County and maybe once a month we hear planes. Usually they are too high to notice.
