Hi guys, does anyone commute from Rockwall to downtown? Just wondering how bad the drive was during rush hour - typical 8-5 day.
Thanks!

About 40-50 minutes or so barring any accident or breakdown.

Default What is the blue line? Is it faster than driving into downtown?

What is the blue line? Is it faster than driving into downtown? What are the average 3/4 bedroom home prices in Rockwall? Are the public schools good?

Short answer: Rockwall is a great place to live. Take the train to downtown!

Unless I'm missing something, Rockwall is not part of DART thus there is no train station in Rockwall. You would have to either drive into downtown Garland, and in the near future perhaps Rowlett as well. But by the time you drive into Garland (20 or 30 minutes in rush hour), wait for the train to get you downtown, walk to your building, you might have spent an equal amount of time to driving in yourself. Although I will admit that even that might be preferable to dealing with a wreck on 30. YMMV

Yes, the time may be about the same. But you'd be relaxing on the train instead of fighting the rush hour traffic, and IMHO, that's totally worth it! Also, if your company doesn't pay for parking in downtown, keep in mind that it can cost up to $7 a day to park.

Rockwall is a great small town and there's lots of stuff right on the water, but Rowlett and parts of Garland are very nice as well. Firewheel in Garland is a neat out door shopping center.

Rowlett is pretty nice. We've lived here for 4 months now and there have been no problems. Also, like was mentioned earlier there will actually be a DART Train station right in downtown Rowlett. If its Rockwall then really its only a 10-15min drive from Rockwall to Rowlett to get onto the future train station there.
