Default And The Bad News Is.....

And the bad news is TXDOT is running out of money to help fund new projects in the near future. Lovely. Everything through 2008 is covered, but '09 and beyond......well, stay tuned.

Well, the new extension for 161 must be covered since it was hurriedly pushed through in order to expand the roadways through Arlington and Grand Prairie in time for the new Dallas Cowboys stadium to open in 2009!

I just cant understand why Houston, cant get its road construction straight...A.) It takes an act of Congress to get a road finished before the beginning of next decade. B) even when roads are finished, they have GOT to be some of the most poorly constructed, pot hole riddled roads I have ever driven on...You can literally seriously damage parts of your vehicle just by cruising through residential areas, which are often lined with these miniature canyons in the middle of the road. I just dont get it. Is it the rain? or the amount of traffic that produces weaknesses in the road structures or what?

I think it's both. I know that concrete and alot of rain will ruin the road. Due to higher traffic and congestion, the roads buckle under the load they weren't meant to hold. A couple summers ago when we had alot of rain and also this past summer, the roads here in DFW were noticably riddled with potholes and ridges!
