I don't think Woodrow has had one the last few years (I don't know how White has traditionally done); this certainly is troubling given that the school is supposed to be a good place for strong AP/IB students. Also, SEM only got three, which I believe is also around normal for them. Out of a class that's generally between 90-100 students, that's only just over 3%. Using my school for comparison, Plano West got 48 this year, which is about 4.5% of the senior class. SEM takes some of DISD's best students, so it shouldn't have less top kids, percentage wise, than a comprehensive school. Oh well...I'm sure we can do plenty of analysis and hair splitting when someone posts the amount per school for this class. Edit: Big G just listed them.

On another note, I do have to mention that Plano West had more than Plano Senior this year, despite having about 300 less students in our graduating class.

42 TAMS
36 Plano East
24 Hockaday
21 Coppell
18 St. Mark's
18 FM Marcus (LISD)
14 Southlake Carroll
12 Highland Park
12 Hebron (LISD)
10 Greenhill
10 Dallas ISD TAG
Anyone care to dig up the % of class for each school?

Highland Park's junior class last year had 486, so using that number yields 2.5%, +.2% to the class of 2012.

Also, just thought I'd point out the results for the frequently discussed - and touted- Collin County High Schools in the Allen, Frisco, and McKinney ISD's. Had to pull enrollment off the TEA 2011 campus reports (using sophomore class, now seniors). Enrollment is likely higher now with so many relocations so % of class may be overstated.

Allen HS - 5/1323 = .4% of class

Frisco HS - 2/430 = .5% of class
Frisco Liberty - 7/ 438 = 1.6% of class
Frisco Centennial - 1/434 = .2% of class
Frisco Wakeland - 2/ 399 = .5% of class

That's right, folks. The "exemplary" Frisco ISD managed to get .7% of this year's seniors named NMSF. Yawn. Since .5% of high school seniors from ALL schools (rich, poor, various demographics and across all regions) are named NMSF, a school really needs to be operating at 4X++ the "norm" (2+% of class) to be worth bragging about.

McKinney HS - 1/562 = .2% of class
McKinney North- 4/430 = .9% of class
McKinney Boyd - 5/735 = .7% of class
McKinney ISD came in at .6% of class, just a smidge behind Frisco ISD. I'm ok with that since McKinney is presented on city-data as a good option for an average suburban school. Which is what it is.

And for fun, I tossed in these two:
Lovejoy - 4/284 = 1.4% of class. Good, but nowhere near the "HP-wannabe" caliber the residents claim their district to be.
Prosper - 1/282 = .4% of class. Moderator cut: see note

You left off these 2 campuses. Using the same enrollment source - as you say, probably understated:

Frisco Heritage 0/369
Frisco Lone Star 0/168

That actually puts Frisco ISD BELOW McKinney.

My son is a semi finalist this year in Flower Mound HS!
Their school mentioned that FMHS has the highest % class this year in Texas public schools. % Class for FMHS is 46 out of 793 = 5.8%

Only 2 from Parish? I don't know much about the school except the parents are paying a fortune. The other North Dallas elites, not surprising.

I would expect, given their strong AP students, at least one from Hillcrest, White, and Woodrow. It's rather tough in general to compare these schools in DISD to the burbs, almost like apples and oranges. Still surprised, though.

Congrats! I was one "back in the day" and my brother was last year. It served both of us well...at OU!
