Hi, am trying to find out best hospitals for giving birth in the DFW area , if possible within 10-12 miles of Plano. Am looking for a place which has good doctors and has a low c-section rate. Thanks

I'd find an ob-gyn that you like.

Then they will tell you which hospital they have privileges at.

Then you can can visit each hospital and also ask their prices and negotiate what you want.

As for c-section. It really depends on your risk factors. Nowadays, each hospital has an ethics comittee and guidelines that doctors have to adhere to.

We did Nurse/Midwife.

Pretty pleasant operation, overall.

Have three kids that way. Other than that they are growing into little monsters -- no regrets.

Details and known-good locations, if that option is of interest to you.

Agreed. Dr. Lee Ann Haddock practices in Dallas and Frisco and is wonderful.

Default delivery

My wife gave birth at Baylor, Dallas.
The delivery expirience was fantastic ( Dr. Leann Haddock is her OBGYN)
The postdelivery care was not so impressive.
The only reason she deleivered there is because of Dr. Haddock. She is indeed THE BEST!

I did the same with my 3rd child and had the best experience. Ive had to two hospital births and one at a birth center. I highly recommend a midwife and a birth center. The care you get is amazing. Watch the business of being born!

Personally, I am going to Baylor Dallas.

I would recommend posting here:

Pregnancy and Childbirth - DFW Area Moms

The ladies can give you very detailed advice about which OBs/CNMs & hospitals will be best for your situation. A few doulas actively post and they REALLY know how things truly go with certain docs/hospitals.

A hospital with a low c-section rate does you no good if your doctor does not have a low rate and is not on board with your plans. I'm assuming you are thinking about a natural birth...if that is the case, you need to REALLY do your research to end up in a situation where it is likely to happen.
