I'm currently living in Watauga and just received a job offer in McKinney.
I need to find an apartment for $750 or less per month. I want to be about within 30 minutes drive from work and Watauga. I also want to live in an area that has plenty of restaurants, bars and stores-ideally within walking distance or able to take public transport. I'm unfamiliar with the area as I moved to Watauga from out of state last August. Thanks for your help!

Well, it's at least 30 minutes from Mckinney to Watauga, and probably quite a bit more. Do you have friends or family in Watauga that you will see multiple times a week? If so, then you could try some place in between the two, like Grapevine, Lewisville, or north Carrollton. But if you prefer just to be closer to work, then you could live further east in Plano, Frisco, or Mckinney along 121. Of course, none of these are a hotbed for singles activity. If you want more of a nightlife, you could try living in North Dallas to give you easier access to the Dallas scene and just reverse commute for work or for when you would go to Watauga. It'll still be quite a drive either way.

There are new places opend just a few miles south in Allen on Stacey rd. and at Bethany. OR if you are in Mckinney you could jump on 121 and be at Legacy park in Plano in about 15 mins.

Second that Plano/Legacy suggestion. Legacy area of Plano has DART and young professionals and is convenient to McKinney (which is familyville) Either live where you work or live where you play but don't be a constant commuter or you'll literally drive yourself crazy.

I need to find an apartment for $750 or less per month. I want to be about within 30 minutes drive from work and Watauga. I also want to live in an area that has plenty of restaurants, bars and stores-ideally within walking distance or able to take public transport. I'm unfamiliar with the area as I moved to Watauga from out of state last August. Thanks for your help!
