She should have stuck to TV show hosting. Why was she attempting to break her own record anyway? It sounds like she was competing against herself. You can't keep doing crap like that forever, before something is going to go wrong.
Someone can die driving a honda to work at a desk job, a real waste. Risk is in the eye of the beholder.
I think the odds of someone dying driving a jet powered car across the desert, might be just a bit higher the the chances of an average Joe getting killed commuting to work.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. She already held the record, sorry I don't see any point in her decision to risk her life to break it again. It would probably have held for a very long time - how many women are crazy enough to do this AND have access to enough funds to build a 50,000+ hp car?
Maybe forever. It doesn't sound like there are a lot, or any women for that matter, interested in challenging her.
That's an unfortunate and tragic loss. It's always a risk in that line of work, of course, but still highly regrettable. Requiescat in pace.
