and how did that work out?

Kid had mental issues and poor decision making killed him.

Why don't they destroy that bus? Quite a few people died getting out there.

It will stop a large number looking just for the bus; but no, serious hikers will do the trail regardless.

No, serious hikers would hike different trails. Scenic-wise the Stampede trail isn't much. There's a thousand better trails to hike in Alaska.

Maybe they can build a safe paved trail with bridges and handrails, and people will stop dying trying to get to it. Maybe a couple of gift shops that sell Gatorade to keep people hydrated - or at least a solar powered Gatorade machine. An umbrella stand would be a good idea too so no one gets wet and gets hypothermia.

They thought about building a bridge but decided moving the bus without telling anyone beforehand was a lot easier.

Why not just let the military use it for a training mission to have one of their heavy lift helicopters sling-lift it out of there. Maybe cut it in half first if it's too heavy for one flight.

They did. See post #243. The bus has been moved from the site, finally.

People have a morbid fascination with sensationalistic death stories. Drawn to a flame like a moth. In the end another fatality.
