With the J sound, it's almost more like "ledge yerd"

A friend of mine who is from Milford was correcting his Boston-area professor (at Northeastern) saying it is actually "nor-witch" (which?) vs. "nor-itch". Apparently people up there do think that.

I've always considered Mamaroneck NY as "mah-marr-oh-neck", but I knew I was wrong and just wasn't sure what.

The "-ham" towns in Mass., that confusingness extends into Conn.: "wind-umm" instead of "wind-ham"

TH-ames. Rhymes with James. I think it has to do with the accent that was common during the Colonisation of Connecticut and the break before the Victorian Era in Britain.

Another one I hear a lot is "Cah-ven-tree" for Coventry.
