Hartford (the city) could still be one of the poorest in the country but the other 56 towns (pop. 1.17 million or almost 90 percent) in the Hartford Metro are pulling up the average. The same goes for the NY-NJ-CT-PA Metro which includes Newark and Bridgeport and ranks #2.

Well, you can get to WV in a fairly short trip from DC. About 70 miles from Reston to the WV border. It's closer than many think.

I know I have posted this before, but I remember reading that Connecticut would be something like the 5th wealthiest state in the country withour Fairfield County. This shows that the state has a lot going for it even outside wealthy Fairfield. Jay

CT consistently ranks the wealthiest year after year, but NJ and MD are a close second and third.
