September 2023 is off to one of the warmest starts in many decades it looks like. I didn't check NWS Bridgeport, but NWS Bradley is now running 5 F above normal, and the MMT is 74 F (the mean temp for July on average). It will be interesting to see if September 2023 keeps the above normal temps going?

Hope you're right. This dewpoint of 71 F here this morning is awful.

Yup, 70s across the board. 74 in New Haven and Groton at the moment

Not even lunch time and it feels like 90s and 100s.

Day #6 of the September torch.

I miss August.

No need to go buy gas, we were saved by the Climate Changing. Phew. Jet stream pushing Lee away from us.

Had it hit we would have to save us from the change.

All models continue to recurve it, No hit for CT or anyone. Good. I don't want it. Save them for winter.

Just got in and it feels like the Amazon out there LOL.

As of 2 PM except Groton (a mild 89 F - lol) every single NWS reporting station has temps in the 90's F...and heat index values from 94 - 100 F. New Haven is closing in on day two of 100 F heat index.

Currently Central Park low this morning is 79. If it does not get cooler before midnight (i.e. thunderstorms), it would tie the highest low temperature ever achieved in September as well as the latest in the year a low of 79 was achieved. Ironically it occurred on this same date way way back in 1881 when the high there was 101 and many locations throughout the Northeast were at, near or above 100 for the day something that for most of those locations happened only one other time in September, in 1953.

I was curious and checked BDR, their low so far is 72 for today so it won't even be close (record for the month is a low of 76 on Sept 9, 2015, ironically (yeah I use that word a lot) with a high of only 87, though it got to 94 the day before. BDL won't break it either as their low so far was 69 and their record is 73 set on Sept 1, 1959 (also with a relatively low high of 83 due to it being a rainy day)).

Boston/Logan Airport may do it though, the "hourly readings" show a low of 78 so far (record is 77 set on Sept 1, 2010 with a high of 94), though NOWdata claims it somehow dipped to 75 between hours at some point.

Interesting to look at for sure. The 1950's seem to have a lot of records for heat in the USA. Looking at low highs for the day, it does shed some light on temps, esp when the news mostly reports of just the daily highs.

While Bradley was still 94 F as of 3:00 PM, if they crack 95 F, there are only a hand full of temp readings above 95 F at Bradley in September since 1905. The September record of 101 F is likely safe. As of 3 PM, Central Park, as well as several CT sites reporting 99 - 100 F heat index.
