At least at NWS Bradley...this July has been as "HHH" as it gets.

NWS Bradley now running 3.8 F ABOVE NORMAL, 11 of the past 17 days have had a high of 85 F or higher (high 93 F)...and 9.51 inches of rainfall for the month so far! WOW. This is more than Miami or New Orleans - LOL

It has been tropical this July, but I'd rather have this than a overcast, cold day in January

Right but the smoke is up higher in altitude and not at the mid or lower levels so the haze we are seeing is not the smoke

Can't imagine what changes we'll see this winter, last couple of years have not been too bad.

I'll be happy with an "average" winter. Give me the average lows, the average highs (sprinkle in a warm day here and there) and average snowfall. But of course, none of us are in any hurry for it.

We are definitely due for a big bad one but one thing I'd like to see come fall is a pattern than supports NorEasters. Seems like we're lacking those lately and who would of thought with a warmer waters less storms would happen. Climate Change saving us from big storms? Or climate is only defined by bad storms? Normalcy is not part of climate?

Speaking of which... Tropical Activity quiet. SHHHHH!

How about this?

Most Humid July on record so far! No heat waves but the humidity has been nuts!

I've always said that an "average winter" in Connecticut is not all that bad, esp for those in southern/coastal CT. Only one month (January) has a mean temp below freezing, and each of the three winter months has an average high well above freezing (good for snow melt). Also, as you say, those bursts of warm weather that occur with 50 F days in mid winter help. Its when we get a below normal winter that CT winters seem long and crappy.

Nasty line of storms moving across this evening leaving trees and wires down in its path.

Around 7am, had a quick down pour, thunder and lightning, then it was outa here. I don't think we had anything overnight, at least not bad enough to wake up this light sleeper who gets woken up by his Yorkie rolling over in bed
