Here it comes.. See that Red Blob? Winds are very strong with it.. You can see how cold the air is behind it because all that Precip is changing to snow with the rush of cold.

I cant believe Alabama & Tennessee & Kentucky and Virginias are seeing a White Christmas and not us???

...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO
10 AM EST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...South winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph
expected.

* WHERE...In Connecticut, Southern Fairfield, Southern New
Haven, Middlesex, and New London Counties. In New York,
Southern Westchester, New York City, Nassau and Suffolk
Counties. In New Jersey, Hudson County.

* WHEN...From 6 PM Thursday to 10 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be
difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.

Sister in Westchester county reports that they're having very high winds, have lost power.

Ridiculous wall of red over NJ/DE. That'll be a lot of rain if it comes here. Will be interesting to see the cocorahs reports down there

And right as I say that, it turns into a blob of yellow. Maybe someone left a radar in the wrong mode? Because that wall of red did look way too intense

Edit - yup, technical issues with Dover's radar. Reflectivites were way too high

Seems unlikely. All of Westchester County has only 34 power outages.

I saw a bunch of utility crews positioned at the Hilton hotel in Glastonbury tonight. Looks like Eversource is trying to be a little more on top of this one.

Where did you get that radar gif from? Do you use GRearth? WSV3?

100mph at 5000'! Some of that is mixing down to the surface hence the 40-60mph winds outside. Wow!
