Do La Niña's focus on being both front- and back-loaded with little in between?

Local weather guys were saying 3 to 6 this morning for most of the state. 8 to 12 seems awfully high when the air isn't really that cold.

Could also mean that the snow is that awful heavy stuff, depending on how quickly the ground cools and how quickly it sticks. :/

Bob Maxon on WTNH was calling for 8-12" on this morning's forecast. I'd much rather the 3-6" so I hope he is wrong.

My pepper seeds just broke the surface but it's WAY too soon for cukes. Unless you have a greenhouse? Also noticed cucumbers don't like to be disturbed so transplanting shocks them. I direct sow them in May.

Don't know off top of my head but we should of known with that strong SER building last month that eventually when it squashed down we would be on top of it creating more winter chances.

Yeah, ratios should be normal or heavy. Spring snows are the worst to shovel especially if you're closer to the storm center. There's going to be over 1/2" liquid with this one.

Currently the storm is over South Dakota. It will move East then a new storm will form off Virginia coast in response to the Jet stream digging through..and the Ohio storm will merge with it.

Note the north movement of moisture over Minnesota and the south movement of snow over Montana. Not a tight circulation yet but its apparent.

There is still blocking in the North Atlantic.. this is allowing storms to slow down and strengthen. Without the blocking fronts and storms just zip in and out.

I thought it was more a transfer of energy from the old, occluded storm to the coastal secondary. Maybe I misunderstood.

Doesn't blocking also lessen the chance of the storm cutting inland?

Nope, you got it right. The Ohio Valley storm will transfer over and the coastal will become the primary once the transfer is complete.

Depends how the Atlantic Ridge and HP is setup. Could mean closer to coast and more inland actually.
New NAM is tucked in closer to coast. Will update later this evening when all models update.

Anyone remember these yrs in CT? Always been happening.

I have a greenhouse setup I am going to use, but I’ve always transplanted and I’d good results.

So the roads and all should be clear by the afternoon if this is going to end Wed morning?
